Once you begin to consider nature in these constructivist terms then it is inevitable that as the manipulation of nature extends down into the genetic and nano technical levels that the question of our responsibility and accountability begins to become increasingly central. In a sense the missing reference is to Michel Serres, not the version that appears in the book but the one who asks for humans to be responsible for the planet they control….
